I heard from a reliable source that the National are definitely playing "in Texas October 8-10" which means they will almost DEFINITELY be playing ACL.

i saw them at acl in 2007 (or maybe 2006? don't remember exactly) and have been a fan since then. they have a great live performance. do they have a new album coming out?

trex_in_tx: They have an album coming out May 11 called High Violet. It's been streaming all weekend at the New York Times ... I think it's up until Tuesday, the 27th.

And a second NYT article from the 24th says that they are indeed playing ACL as Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo (scroll to the bottom).

The NY Times had a story over the weekend about The National. The last paragraph mentioned they will be at ACL.

They do have a new album. It comes out mid May. There is a single out called Bloodbuzz Ohio you could probably find online with little work.

Given the quality of the other sources in the Band Confirmation forum, I'm surprised The National isn't already listed there.

Having a decade's worth of SXSW sampler CDs to wade through is handy. Let's see if The National is catchy enough to enjoy - found "So Far Around the Bend" on a 2009 CD.
