My love for Muse has nothing to do with Twilight, I hate those books and specially the films with a passion. I hate Green Day too. But all three members of Muse are extremely talented, and I love their stuff. And they are one of the best live bands in the world right now. Them live is really something to see, they are great. 10 bucks any doubters will be converted into at least thinking they are pretty good if they saw them at ACL.

Also I'd trade Muse for Radiohead too but you didn't hear that. Lets just have both there k?

If you seriously choose not to see Muse then you are fucking stupid. Isn't ACL about live music? They are the band to see. You will be regretting it for eternity. Why wouldn't you want to see a band that people rave about their live performances?

I went with people to the Houston show that didn't even know Muse or particularly like that type and music and came out stunned.

I love Radiohead equally and would kill to see them live as well. Just sayin....

WHY HAS NO ONE EVEN QUESTIONED IF PAVEMENT WILL BE THERE!?!?!

They NEED to close out at least one of the nights!

I would kill for Pavement to be there, but I just don't expect it to happen. Then again, their scheduled dates end on September 30th, so I guess its possible.

So I had a dream last night. I was looking at the ACL lineup and this is what I remember: Jay-Z will be the Friday headliner. And MGMT will be saturday but not a headliner. And Coldplay will be the Sunday headliner. Called it.

FUCK whoever thinks Muse fans are only people who love Twilight. In Europe they are one of the biggest bands, just because they aren't supernova over here yet doesn't mean the only Americans who like them are Twilight fans. Show some respect you stereotypical bastard. They got where they are by pure talent.

That being said, even though I love Muse, I've already seen them, so Radiohead > Muse. But alas, that's not going to happen, so I'm sticking by my other favorite British band for Saturday night!

i don't understand the muse & twilight connection.. is it because muse and robert pattinson are both British?

and for the record, although muse puts on an entertaining live show (i saw them at acl 07), their new album is garbage. not that it will stop them from headlining a day, i just think they let their fans down with their new stuff.

I'm a little blown away by the love for Muse on here. I've seen them live and they are pretty great, but they headlined like three years ago. Here's hoping for a night time show for someone who hasn't headlined before, like LCD Soundsystem or My Morning Jacket (who in my opinion are better live bands than Muse anyway).

Who's it going to be on Sunday night? Neil Young with some variation of Crazy Horse (he's coming to Austin solo in June)would be the best but seems unlikely. They usually skew older for that spot, so if Phish is playing (like Sanford says) I'm sure that's their spot. That would be fine with me

Meh @ LCD Soundsystem headlining, however My Morning Jacket would be the illest.

any hold steady fans? here's my hold steady conspiracy theory:

they have a tour coming up later this summer, their only show in tx is in dallas, and it's not like them to skip austin. there's a break after this tour, but they have 1 show scheduled all alone on oct. 7 in nyc, leaving oct. 8-10 wide open for a return to atx. i would bet we'll see them at acl.

My son was at Coachella this past weekend. The Gorillaz closed it out and he was VERY disappointed. They were OKY, but the act ust doesn't translate well to a live show.

Not a good closing act for the whole weekend.

Them Crooked Vultures were great as was LCD Soundsystem.

I was thinking that too.

And Muse would have to have a night slot. Their light show is epic. For those of you who are hating, have you seen the clips from Coachella?

or for that matter, fucking Wembley Stadium:

Now tell me they don't deserve to headline ACL.

And I too resent the Twilight comments. I've seen Muse 5 times and have been a fan for 4 years, way before stupid fucking Twilight.
