I got this info from AustinMusicMan on the ACL Festival official forum. Sounds legit but take it with a grain of salt.

quote:
As I have said before, Green Day is a lock.

I have a friend that books a major venue in the central Texas area and is buddies with a bunch of the agents at William Morris, Paradigm, and more and he was told Green Day contracted with C3 to play both Llola and ACL. Would be really cool to see an offical afterparty somewhere in town with Foxboro Hot Tub. Green Day has also never filmed ACL and maybe this is a good shot for that.

He has been told that Pat Green and Ryan Bingham are playing the festival because he wanted to book them and was told they can not play in the market due to the ACL contract.

He was also told that The Eagles and Soundgarden are confirmed for the festival by one of his agent buddies that books other acts for their booking agency (The William Morris Agency).

He tried to book Miranda Lambert and was informed she can not play the Austin market, but is not sure if it is because of ACL or some other play. She is in New Braunfels in June and this friend of mine wanted her later in the summer and was told she already has another date in the area that would be announced after the New Braunfels play. May or may not be ACL. My guess is a 50/50 chance. She just started her first national headlining tour.

With all that info and the fact Muse is playing Oklahoma on October 8 I am guessing the following will be your headliners......
Fri - Soundgarden / ???
Sat - Green Day / Muse
Sun - The Eagles

I would also guess we get the following due to the fact C3 manages them.
Robert Earl Keen
Band Of Heathens
Black Joe Lewis
Thievery Corporation
What Made Milwaukee Famous

it just seems unrealistic to me that C3 would book 2 of the 3 mainstage headliners from lolla at ACL as well. I am pretty sure they have never done that.

Both Beastie Boys (replaced by Yeah Yeah Yeahs at both festivals) and Kings of Leon were scheduled/played both festivals last year.

I don't know about the crappy Eagles closing out ACL, but I do have a source that the Flaming Lips are for sure going to be there. So they have to be a closing act one night.

I also pray to the music gods ACL and C3 does not get the Eagles. That would be a drop down from having PJ close last years Festival. Also I do see acts from last year playing again this year.

Please C3 don't get the Eagles.

I don't get all the hate for the Eagles? I didn't see any hate for Dylan and I gurantee their show will be more entertaining than that one was. I know I know legend this and legend that. I know he is a legend but that show was still terrible. I for one think the Eagles would put on a decent show.

You said "decent" show. I want more out a festival headliner than a "decent" show.

Since ACL likes to put bands with similar fans on at the same time so that not everyone gravitates towards one stage, then this is my current prediction:

Friday: Soundgarden/Green Day
Saturday: Flaming Lips/Muse
Sunday: Eagles

How do the Eagles even sound nowadays? I didn't even think they were still together.

They recently reunited, released a new album, and then launched a tour last week.

I like Phoenix, but honestly I don't they're big enough to be headliners yet. Don't know what Lollapalooza was thinking.
