Alright, I think we've all gotten our wishlists out there and most of us have seen the rumors that have been leaked (Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Kings of Leon, Ghostland, DMB, etc).
Now there are just 16 days until we all know who's playing. Lets use this space for posting any other rumors we have heard/read and the sources.
The only other one I have seen lately was posted on a Houston Press blog and at the end of mentioning the bands above, it posted this line: "If all this seems a little '90s for you, Rocks Off has also heard another eyeliner-loving group might be around to sing a love song or two. "
Maybe you guys can help me out. My first reaction was The Cure, but they are definitely more 80s than 90s (to me anyway). I also read something somewhere about a Smiths reunion.
Anyway, let me know what you think and I hope you guys find some stuff between now and the 28th.
NO chance about a Smiths reunion. thats just crazy for anyone to say.
90s bands i can think of who could perform are: -oasis: second leg of usa tour should be around that time -blur: playing summer gigs in the uk. you never know, maybe they already booked a tour in the usa -the verve: came with an album last yr and still havent done a proper usa tour
the way that was said, doesn't really imply that the band was from the 90's/ to me that sounds like they are aren't from the 90's. I The Cure is a good guess.
Google it. I have seen it a bunch of places. Anyway, I would think they were talking about The Cure, as I said before. The bands mentioned above dont meet the "eye-liner loving" part of the statement.
Originally posted by ld: If the cure or the smiths were to be at ACL, I'd be leaving early that night. Nothing makes my ears bleed more than that whiny crap.
Which has nothing to do with the fact that The Cure is a good guess as to what the comment ment.
PEARL JAM! They didnt hit the west coast last year for their latest release and Vedder's latest solo tour only booked east coast dates. PJ was also just announced as the headliner of Outside Lands today. I think its pretty obvious. The Cure can suck it.
The inactivity here or anywhere else suggests that they (C3, etc) are being real tight-lipped. Last year at this time, we all knew a lot more bands (maybe because of the mashup). I am curious if they are going to do something like that this year.
