I loved the lineup in '04 and '05. After the lineup was released for '06 I was bummed - probably because this board gave me unreachable expectations.

I now read for fun. Why? Because last year was my favorite ACL - the year where I had only 2 or 3 "must see" bands.

I win either way with ACL, either a bunch of "must see" bands or I drink beer in Austin for 3 days, watch ACL fest goers and if I'm fortunate enough, I see Leslie's ass once - not more than once, but at least once.

If you are buying a ticket on speculation that so-and-so will play, don't cry when your dreams shatter on May 15... it will not be everything you want.... all of our hopes and dreams are too high.

I totally agree with you. I picked Lollapalooza this year after hitting ACL the last 2 years, but now I'm leaning towards doing both. ACL 2005 was awesome, and though I was disappointed with the lineup last year, I had an even better time last year than 2005.

The great thing about ACL really is the solid 2nd and 3rd tier acts. Someone always surprises me.
