I'm considering forwarding what I have to Hansford. How well do any of you here know him? Can I trust him to not post it anywhere else or not to forward it to anyone else? I'm hoping people will just take his word for it. I hate for it to end up in the wrong hands and someone get fired for this or I ruin my chances at getting the info for future ACL Fests.

this isn't watergate and you aren't holding information that will save lives. if you gave your word you wouldn't pass it on, don't pass it on. What positives do you get for passing it on?

Well, I gave my word I wouldn't post it publicly. I'm assuming hansford wouldn't do that. I guess the only positves would be someone to vouch for me that I'm not making shit up, and to just show someone else some proof. I dunno...was just a thought.

ACLFan - Lets say that you do have this list, and that it is accurate, and someone might lose a job...which I have no idea whether or not it is true, although as excited as I am, the lineup appears almost too good to be true, except of course that it is missing Bob Schneider.
Why would you really care what all these people bitching on the message boards think? This list, whether it is true or not, has provided some much needed conversation about ACL. There is no scavenger hunt, no release of information. I don't think you owe it to anybody. All of these people bitching and complaining are the same ones who are going to be complaining that its too hot, not enough shade, too many chairs, not enough headliners...whatever. It's Austin in September, its gonna be hot. It always is, and Zilker is not ever gonna have shade.
I imagine most people go to ACL to discover some new bands and see some really good big names they may not have another opportunity to see. I vote you keep the list to yourself, and tell all the haters to fuck off. If they don't believe you, they can quit nitpicking every person on there

If you pass along the list, the only thing they could vouch for is that you passed them a schedule that perhaps was made by CAE or perhaps was made by one of 4 billion computer owners with a word processing program.

Wadius...no I haven't. I've posted the lineup and when certain people play, but I haven't posted the actual files anywhere.

Thanks guys for the advice/comments. Good points...

so this is the last time im getting on here. but i just wanted to say that aclfan. sorry to break it to you but your list is not real. some of the acts are comming but not all. and i know its fake because. nobody knows whos playing when and on what stage yet. they roughly know who is headlining and a rough order. so thats not true. like i said they wont know that untill it comes closer to the acutall festival dates. but anyways im done on here, sorry to break it to you. but enjoy the lineup on may 15th.

ciao

Sonus.....well, whether it's true or not, I don't know for sure. Like I've said, it's a pretty rough looking and preliminary schedule, and I know it came from one of the "higher ups" there. It doesn't look close to being final and even has bands scratched out, etc. I'm sure some of these bands on here have backed out or maybe some of them were just "wishes" of ACL, who knows. On that list that was put out, about 10 of the first 20 aren't on my list anyway. Thanks for the heads up and I guess we'll just see on the 15th next month. Take care...

Confirmed Acts thus far include Asleep at the Wheel, Blue Mother Tupelo, Raul Malo, Reverend Horton Heat, Robert Earl Keen, Eli Young, The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker, The Jellydots, Christina Bell, Charlie Musselwhite, Ryan Bueter, Kevin Gordon, Sara Hickman, Kings of Leon, Andrew Bird, and Ben Kweller. All acts have been confirmed via myspace and other sources, Austin City Limits has NOT officially posted the line up.

A recent interview with Charles Attal on austin360 provided these helpful pieces of information: The Police are definitely not playing ACL. They have got dates in Amsterdam during ACL. ACL festival booker Charles Attal also stated that Pearl Jam is not on the bill either. When asked about the Smashing Pumpkins or the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Attal responded that the headliners are even bigger. Charles Attal later confirmed that Radiohead was not on the bill due to scheduling conflicts.
