Dont see how people are complaining about this years supposed lack of hip hop/electronica. Girl Talk, Beasties, Thieves, Mos Def, Knaan, The Knux, Ghostland, and im sure im missing some but thats more than there ever has been. Agree a Santigold or MIA or such would be great but if your a hip hop head this is a very pleasing year.
I am definitely excited for this years turnout in the electronic/dance genre. Last year it was severely lacking. At least this year we have a reason to dance around barefoot and enjoy the lovely grass that Austin has provided.
I think you guys are just bitching to bitch. The line up is GREAT. There are a ton of great bands. You people would bitch if c3 got The Beatles back together and you would say there is not enough hard rock or the fest is getting to old. JUST SHUT UP!!! If you don't like the line-up then don't go, but I guess the other 75,000 people that go will have a fun time for you.
Tim Reynolds is on tour with Dave Matthews Band all summer. It would be awesome if he did a solo set. He's pretty avant garde, but he's an amazing guitarist.
Eddie Vedder is doing a short solo tour this year. His soundtrack for Into the Wild was great. He's one of the best all-time songwriters. Would be cool if he did a solo set at ACL. He often comes out before Pearl Jam soundchecks to do a few tunes solo.
According to Dan Auerbach's myspace page Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket will be drumming for him on the road. One of my favorite drummers for sure.
