I know it sounds weird, but that would be tight as all get up. Prince would be a big departure from the regular style, but I'd love to see him live. Anyways, wouldn't you think of him as more of the Coachella type though?

I think Prince will go where the vibe is. He has sort of reconstructed his image over the last couple of years and he is probably the only artist that could play, and fill any of the big festivals with any style. If you have never seen him........wow

Does Prince play festivals like this? I guess there is always a first time (Madonna at Coachella). Most likely, he will turn up at SBC/AT&T Center or Erwin Center this year. He likes arenas.

I really doesn't seem like the festival type. As much as I'd love to see it, I think he has a slight ego. A festival shares the limelight with too many others...

So the rumors blog is saying that Prince might just play this festival after all. I know it's still just speculation, but still, seems like it's not as little of a possibility as was thought.

That is what I think. However, Madonna took the plunge with Coachella. Bruce Springsteen is playing Jazz Fest. Two other icons from the 80s who have rarely played festivals in the past. So, why not Prince?

The blog has been pretty careful about it's speculation, so I agree that having Prince mentioned is something to take note of (as opposed to a lot of the speculation elsewhere).

Or, he could just be spicing things up since we don't have the scavenger hunt anymore.

So if Prince does confirm to play ACL......Anyone else feel like getting a team together and challanging Prince and The Revolution to a game of basketball???

I remember reading in the Austin Chronicle last year, just after the 2005 ACL Fest, that Earth Wind and Fire were gonna play 2006 ACL??? Anyone know anytthing about that?

Two things.

First off, it's embarassing, but I don't quite understand the Prince/basketball thing. Can someone fill me in? Wink

And second, Prince played some jazz festival in 2004 while on tour, so yeah he plays festivals, just not the biggest yet.
