There were a few electronica acts last year like M83 and Thievery Corporation, and it looks like Massive Attack is already signed on for this year. ACL organizers are clearly looking into booking more electronica acts, and maybe we'll even get a dance tent or something this year.
All I'm saying is I wouldn't COMPLETELY rule them out. After being totally shocked that they got M83 to play last year, I'm convinced that anything can happen.
I was at Coachella, and yes Daft Punk was the best performance, but Massive Attack was a very close second. I agree that Daft Punk will not be added for ACL. It really doesn't seem like the type of act they would get for the ACL festival. But who knows!?
Bangalter is in Phoenix!?! I must be slipping at my old age (of 22). I mean I haven't heard Phoenix before, so I guess I don't feel too bad. Damn, well that COULD be a possibility, but man, I would move to Austin if the punk came down for ACL.
If you want to see Daft Punk it looks like you're Daft Fucked. However, if you want to see geriatric and middle-aged housewife friendly acts, ACL 2006 is THE place to be!
