Yeah, there are plenty of acts who haven't been mentioned who will play the festival. Acts will start on tour in the later portion of the year, or will add on additional fall dates. There's no way everyone guessed all of the big acts last year, and we can't guess most of them this year.

That being said, bands like Modest Mouse, who has been mentioned by I think one person, could play because they're just starting a tour and are the type of band ACL wants to play. Here's to hoping.

Has anyone mentioned Smashing Pumpkins yet? Or, for that matter, has anyone mentioned my bloody valentine? Smashing Pumpkins are supposedly reforming and working on new material this summer. It's reasonable to believe that, if they are even a remote possibility, none of the kinks will really be worked out until after all of the other summer festivals are done, leaving ACL as a possibility. My Bloody Valentine is probably wishful thinking, but there was some news at some point last year about some boxed sets that were supposed to be out this year, and there were, I believe, even rumors of the band practicing together again - or at least talking to each other. They haven't been announced for other festivals where they might be a better fit, and they might not be a fit at all for ACL's general style, but what a wonderful surprise it would be if that happened.

i don't know if i'd be happy about modest mouse playing acl again. even though its one of my favorite bands, they really let everyone down 2 years ago with an uninspired set that got cut short by about 20 minutes. besides there's not any new material out to play, so i doubt it anyway.

I'm not sure a festival would be a very good place to see Daniel Johnston.

Actually, Modest Mouse are recording a new album at the moment. I heard they got the guitarist or bassist from the Smiths to record with them. I think I might of read that on p-fork...

Ryan Adams is playing with Willie Nelson and Neko Case at the Hollywood Bowl the weekend previous to ACL...and Willie and Ryan had a project in the works. It would be neat to see them team up for ACL. I'm hoping to catch a Ryan show..didn't go to ACL in '04.

JBT would be great, but somebody earlier talked about an unofficial rule that artists could only play 2 years in a row... Don't know if it's true or not. In any case, JBT played the past two years. I just saw JBT in Tucson, and he had another phenomenal Aussie blues guitarist by the name of Jeff Lang opening for him... similar vein to JBT's stuff. Check him out at: http://www.jefflang.com.au/

I believe that it is three year in a row limitation but from the replies I got on this board it sounds as though that might not be an actual rule. Who knows though, right?
