They also are speculating about Shakira (which I highly doubt, if for no other reason that she is playing San Antonio with a few days of ACL). However, being in the Chronicle, it will probably get some traction and it will be fun to watch people get alarmed and offended that Shakira could play ACL. I mean, some people can't handle Dave Matthews playing ACL, what will they think of Shakira?

Austin Chronicle:
RollingStone.com reported last week that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers will play this year's ACL Music Festival as part of their 30th anniversary, and possibly final, tour. The lineup won't be officially released until May 11, but leaks are springing faster than anywhere outside the White House press room: New Pornographers, Los Lonely Boys, Son Volt, Buckwheat Zydeco, Ben Harper, and Austin's the Black Angels and Centro-matic are in, and interestingly enough, slinky Colombian superstar Shakira has a four-day gap in her fall tour before a Sept. 19 show in Houston.

Anyways, I would prefer she wouldn't come, because that's a big slot I'd prefer for a lot of other acts, but if she were to come I wouldn't be that upset, although I probably wouldn't see her. (She is really hot though...)

Anyways, I didn't really follow last year - were bands leaking out at the same rate?
