I doubt that I can get an absolute answer to this one, unless someone actually works for ACL Productions, but how is the artist lineup actually scheduled? Does ACL tell Bob Dylan and White Stripes or whoever the alleged headliner might be when and where they are playing as far as Fri, Sat or Sun night? Or does the band tell ACL they will play, but the band says what day they are available? I understand the bigger bands get the better times, but if that list is 60% accurate, I can already see a lot of tough choices everyone is going to have to make.
its a combo of everything you just said. acl has to work around the artist's schedule most of the time. thus the reason muse played a funky set last year. obviously the biggest headliners will play last act each night with the biggest(or what they project to get the biggest crowd) to play at the AMD stage. but alot of times bands that could play later in the bill get bumped up for personal reasons. this is why acl doesnt have a set play time untill closer to the festival
Sonus - once again, assuming that you do have a connection with ACL, and mainly because I am bored..Do you have any insight if Bob Schneider is going to be at ACL this year? I know for a fact that his management is trying to get him on the bill, and he seems to be a fixture on the Austin music scene. He is exactly what makes ACL so great. He can go from a country bluegrass, to rap to hardcore rock to whatever is floating his boat that day. Tell your Dad that I will take care of him all weekend at ACL - stand in lines, save him spots, whatever, if we can bring big old Bob back to ACL. I don't care if it is a 11:00 am spot on Friday. ACL needs Bob. Bob needs ACL.
