i sure hope not, simply for the fact that they headlined not that long ago. 2006 i think?

Not sure. I was back stage at the Austin Music Hall show, Wayne himself said they would be back in october for ACL.

No, they didn't headline in '06 took the stage before Tom Petty. Either way, they would make an awesome headliner!! With the show they put on feels very much in line to close out the night or the festival.

They were not headliners in 2006. They played mid-afternoon if I remember correctly. Great show though.

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but in the Austin Chronicle this week there is an ad in with others that advertise the numerous upcoming shows at Stubb's, Antone's, and other places in Austin that was simply a black box with white text reading "Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face." With ACL's history of teasing acts I think this might be an indication that The Flaming Lips are coming (even if they have already been confirmed). I suggest keeping an eye out for more of these types of teasers.

The Lips play Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK on October 10th, Black Keys open for them.

I got that wrong about Flaming Lips/The Black Keys...

The Black Keys are playing Cain's Oct 10th, but Nicole Atkins is opening. Sorry, I read the email wrong.

This week's Chronicle has another teaser ad this week:

"When I am alone
Is there a ghost in my house?"

That's by Band of Horses.

there are actually 2 teasers in this weeks chronicle. the boh one is on page 88 while the 2d one, on page 57, says:

I can see it all from here
