On South Lamar, just North of the Alamo Drafthouse there is a billboard green billboard that has a lyric from an eagles song. I can't remember the exact lyric but we googled it on my iphone and it said it was an eagles song (have a pop down there if you live in Austin if you need to verify). I think this is one of the ACL leaks.

Who said ACL Fest has to be all Indie? It's all about different styles of music for different crowds. If you don't want to see the Eagles, see something else. And if they play sunday night, then go home early and beat the crowds.

i second that notion. i would prefer a different headliner (radiohead) but let's face it, acl has a lot of older fans too who will be stoked about the eagles. there will be plenty of good shit to make it worthwhile over the 3 days. plus there is no way that the eagles could put on a worse show than the bob dylan festival close-out in 2007.. that was just painful.

Exactly. Bob Dylan was just a snoozer. I didn't want to watch folk music, but others enjoyed him.

Can't wait for the Eagles, did every gripe about tom petty and dylan as well. I am just as excited about M.I.A. and Phoenix and if it was not for ACL I would have never gotten into Flaming Lips, Common, Avitt Brothers, Phoenix, Ray lamontange, Brett Dennen, so really, come on there is enough for everyone out there...

My only hope will be a kick-ass after show on Sunday so I can leave early and beat the traffic.

ACL Fest is lucky they landed the Eagles.
Maybe next year they'll headline a rapper like JayZ. And if they choose to headline some country band like Dixie Chics or some other shit, then I will be leaving early. But I won't bitch.

Hey man, it's like this. I have had many chances to see the eagles and passed. they were chargin a couple bills just for them when they first did the come back tour. so with all the other bands i still getum cheaper.

I saw don Henley once back in the day and he was decent I still recall the whole crowd singin kick um when there up kick when their down.

I still can dig glen fry's smugglers blues if I'm in the right mood.

I saw Joe walsh solo for free back when he was a drunk motherscrather and he could still play a sloppy mean guitar but the slurring was a little pathetic.

The bottom line is they have a plethora of great songs and most probably know all the lyrics. They might not be your cup-a-tea but they desrve respect regardless. A bet the rest of the artists respect them,as they should.

I'll kick back on a lawn chair with a cold one in hand and soak up some eagles. If nothin else I can say I saw them and make up my own mind about the show.

Hell, I might even have me a tequila sunrise for breakfast that mornin.

im not like a big fan or anything, but they have some pretty good songs (I havent listened to anything besides the hits though). I mean, they are definitely not like a cant miss band and i dont care about them too much, but i would definitely see them if they were unopposed (Which they probably will be). Dont see why people think they are bad.

I'm an "older fan".....I'll be home early soaking my dentures and watching Matlock reruns if The Eagles headline. IloveBob Dylan......and that was painful.

I can't think of a more horrible band. At least I'll save money this year by not going
