According to Wikipedia, the official lineup won't be released until May 18th. I checked the ACL site and they no longer have the 11th as the lineup date. Have you heard anything about this?

I hate Charles Attal. Its true aclfest.com no longer has May 11 as the date.

Well, this could mean one of two things:

1) They are working on finalizing some blockbuster bands that will blow us away OR

2) Try to get another week of sales of passes via hype and speculation before releasing a lackluster lineup

Anybody can update Wikipedia. It could just be somebody misinformed or a prank. I have not seen an offical notice of the postponement.

We will probably hear something official on Thursday, maybe the Chronicle or Statesman will have something to say.

Did they ever say anything about it being the 11th but for the Scavenger Hunt? I didn't see it on the lineup page, ever. I just saw "shortly."

And the hype thing is crap, it's the same company as Lolla so they aren't going to make one festival good and one crap. Smiler

When I asked, I got nothing as an answer.

"I was wondering if the announcement of the lineup has been delayed.
During the Scavenger Hunt it said it would be revealed on the 11th, but now
on the Wikipedia page it says the 18th. I realize that anybody can post
something on Wikipedia, but I was curious if the date from the Scavenger
Hunt stands at the 11th."

"Ah, Isaac, I'm not supposed to say! Sorry!"

Frustrating for certain.

Coldplay, Widespread Panic and Oasis were not exactly the greatest of headliners. The year before, Sheryl Crow was a headliner. ACL doesn't really have a great track record of pulling down the elite headlining acts, so you might understand why some of us are skeptical when there are rumors of delaying the festival announcement. Especially when Radiohead, U2, Manu Chao and Stevie Wonder rumors in the past have been just that, rumors.

How disappointing. I need to know the lineup, so I can know whether to go or not!

By the way, Nikolai, Rushmore is fantastic.

I would disagree. I think Coldplay and Widespread Panic were excellent headliners....and so was String Cheese, REM. Agreed, Oasis may have not been up there. We will see who they get this year. I can't imagine that they would wait until the last minute to line up their big acts, unless something fell through. i am guessing that is what happened.
